Our services range from one-off commissions, simple planting to complex planting schemes to full-scale start from scratch garden design and installation. We also offer a maintenance program for all gardens installed. i. Greenhouse / Poly-tunnel. Keeping those tender plants happy and alive over winter can be a tricky business. There is of course only so much room on your kitchen window. We can supply and install a very wide range of manufacturers’ greenhouses and tunnels of all shapes and sizes. We can also have these made bespoke to fit any area of almost any size. Additionally we can help with outfitting you with all the necessary peripherals, such as benches, lighting, heaters etc, etc. ii. Dry-stone walls. This is a skill that we are proud to boast. It takes real thought and intelligence in forming a sound and attractive wall which can last many, many years. We are members of ‘The Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain’ and will be officially certified after completion of the DSWA Walling course, which all members of our installation team will take. We would be happy to use our skills in laying a dry-stone wall of any length. We carry out this job using only natural materials; no cement work, unless under water if surrounding a pond. iii. Irrigation. Due to the warmer climate that surrounds us all, it has become extremely common place to have an irrigation system installed as part of a new garden or even as an after thought to an existing garden. No matter how large there is always a solution. Having an irrigation system in place allows you the pleasure in no longer worrying whether or not the plants will die from lack of water. Instead it frees you to concentrate on some other aspect of your life. Needless to say our irrigation systems are all computerised and user friendly. iv. Ponds and streams. There is nothing quite like the sound of a meandering stream rippling over stones or of water gently splashing into a pond. We are more than happy to create either a pond with or without a trickling stream for your relaxing pleasure. We use only natural slate rocks for these. We source these directly, choosing each stone individually to absolutely guarantee a perfect fit and finish. v. Turfing. In any garden, no matter what you do to it, there is nothing that shouts ‘complete’ than laying the last piece of turf, and nothing more satisfying than standing back to see those fresh green stripes. We have extensive knowledge with laying turf, including soil conditioning; before and after turfing, feeding, irrigation, scarifying, aerating and of course maintenance. It takes great precision in turfing to acquire a flat and pleasing surface but with our time-honoured skills and laser levelling equipment we can do just that. vi. Tree planting. As ‘Edna St Vincent Millay’ eloquently wrote, ‘to glimpse a tree so tall and proud, It sheds its’ leaves upon a cloud’, conjures up a beautiful image. Trees can radically change the perception of space and make a seemingly single dimensional area transform into three dimensions. The sheer scale of a large tree can add interest, seasonal colour and height to a garden. We have the tools and techniques to plant a tree of any size almost anywhere. Pleached trees, hedging, and trees as features and single trees. vii. Tree planting - Orchards. Imagine, September, a bright crisp morning, you stroll into your garden, past the beautiful autumnal herbaceous border and directly into your recently formed orchard. You reach up, twist and there you have it, in your hand, your very own, ‘Golden Delicious’, a Morello Cherry, a Conference Pear. You bite… Fantastic. We can plan your fruit orchard so you get fruit right through the summer and autumn. We will provide a maintenance program, and help with the maintenance if required. viii. Bulbs. It’s late spring / early summer, what a truly inspiring sight when the first Tulip flower unfolds, or Narcissus reflects in the sun. Alliums standing boldly, while Muscari sway silently at the soils’ feet. Autumn is the more common time to plant these wonderful creations so let our team help. We can source directly from some of the very best suppliers, and plant your bulbs exactly where you wish. Not only will this alleviate you from the toils of having to be on your hands and knees in the cold wet autumn soil, it will also relax you knowing that your chosen bulbs will be planted and fed correctly ready for a magnificent display. ix. Planting. Your friends come over for a barbeque, guests arrive for the buffet, you dine in the garden, and you’re surrounded by colour, shape, form and fragrance. How marvellous you would feel knowing your guests are all in awe and a little envious. Maybe you are tired of the border you’ve been nurturing but struggling with for years and feel it’s time for a change. Or maybe you want to add a brand new border just for envy’s sake. With the wealth of help at our disposal and plant sources from the best suppliers, we can design what ever you a looking for. One of the keys to a successful border is ‘the right plant in the right space.’ x. Oak bench making. Sitting on a bench that’s made from solid, aged and weathered oak is a magnificent treat. Built to last these benches are stunning. They are all hand crafted to your specific instructions and can pretty much be made to any length. The legs are made from the trunks of younger fallen oaks whilst the bench and seats are made from milled oak lengths of trees felled due to some type of disease. It takes a little time to produce but the finished piece is well worth it. |
